Uppercut landed flush and snapped his head back, plus he was rushing forward, probably got kneed by his own rushing but that's his fault. Tunney didn't throw a knee

Absolutely beyond belief that the quality of the film is so horrendous (certainly NOT the fault of TheGreatA!! His PARENTS probably weren’t even born yet at the time of this fight!!) Louis had already established himself as a coming all-time great after the KOs of Ramage, Carnera (another lousy quality film), Levinsky and Max Baer. NO excuse for the promoter to not put a top-quality film crew on this fight featuring the Great Louis. The fights against Carnera, Levinsky and Baer were all HUGE draws at the gate and it is unconscionable that the Uzcudun fight, another sellout and Louis’ first fight in the Garden, wasn’t memorialized with a film of the quality of the Ramage, Levinsky and Baer fights.

As was frequently the case, Patterson tried to assist his fallen opponent. I've noticed Dempsey did the same. I think Floyd understood the sense of humiliation in being knocked out, lying on the canvas, exposed to the world. Paradoxically, it was important to protect the man he'd put in that situation- one he knew himself from personal experience. He was a gentle man in a violent trade.

Maxim was still a good, solid fighter. Excellent jab (though my father thought it was ludicrous to compare it to a maxim gun). Also a solid right hand, especially inside with the uppercut. Cus must have had a lot of confidence in Floyd to match him so tough so early in his career. Though some deny this here, Floyd does look smaller than Maxim. At 168 he's a muscular but still slender kid with more filling out to do-- nowadays a "super-middleweight." Excellent bout and since there is only half the bout here, it's hard to tell if it really was a bad decision.

The man who destroyed boxing with foolery bouts making it all about the money. Bobs comments on mayweather vs. Castillo 1 sealed the fight for floyd. Although many claimed (including announcers), castillo was definitely up in points, and they felt he had won. I believe it was the reason floyd fought castillo again. Plus, Chavez had a better undefeated record before any losses.

This is a brutal great fight a heavyweight Hagler vs Hearns fight. You don't try to knockout Sonny Liston in the 1st round. Forget Liston vs Ali 2. Liston in his prime would knockout a Joe Frazier or Mike Tyson early. Liston also could box. Great left jab 84 inch reach. Liston had more reach then Williams announcer wrong here
